September is generally a quite month around here and with watering duties becoming less time consuming we decided to spend a day getting to grips with some of the trees that have been here for a while. It never ceases to amaze me how an hour or two can transform a scruffy stump. I also have to wonder why more folk don’t buy raw material when so little work can double it’s value. Answers on a postcard please 😉

Once again this year we will be attending the Bonsai Traders event at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield, Sunday September 29th. As usual we will have the biggest stand with the coolest stuff and some real bargain trees to clear too.

We go out of our way to find the most interesting and unique bonsai trees and material. I get really fed up looking at boring trees, particularly mass produced stuff. It doesn’t really make us any money but it adds a little spice to the daily grind.

Over the last year we have been overwhelmed by the number of trees arriving on our nursery. In bonsai not everything is available all the time and so when stock becomes available it’s prudent to buy it. However we have now reached a critical point and the nursery is full. Then I go out and buy a MASSIVE private collection! So now we have to make some space quickly.
