Who knew the Queen had bonsai?
Anyone want to stab a guess at what happened to Jack?
Bizarre tale of the Queen, ‘Jack’ the bonsai tree and a first-class jaunt from China.

An interesting read, I’m very familiar with the Cricketers Pub in St Albans, now an Indian Restaurant.
I bet the tree was overwatered and as for it’s current whereabouts, probably now compost!
Jack went on to become a star of stage and screen and appeared in several T.V. series as a specialist Outdoor extra. His most famous role was in several of the “Harry Potter” movies where he played the “Whumping Willow” (Not much make-up required).
He is now in retirement at an Old oaks home.
I remember the Queen saying, when she visited our stand a Chelsea a few years ago, ” i once had a bonsai, but it died” .
Thanks Derek we really needed that 😉
It’s folk like yourself that make all the grief worthwhile.

This is one of those “to be continued..” blogs. Graham knows what happened to Jack. Come on, spill it?
And I remember The Cricketers. As I young driver I ran into the back of an L driver who stalled at the junction. I’ll never forget the smirk on his face as the instructor told me “The driver behind is always to blame sonny”
Jack fell down and broke his crown.
